Eric Butterfield is a singer/songwriter and music producer in Northern California. He has spent three decades performing in bands, and currently performs as a solo acoustic act. His songs have reached the semi-finals in three major songwriting competitions.

His recent single, “Wake Me in Paris” (co-written with Scott Mickelson), is the outgrowth of a custom song. It was a semi-finalist in the 2017 International Songwriting Competition (unsigned category), as well as a semi-finalist in the 2018 Unsigned Only music competition. His soon-to-be-released song, "In Love With Love," made the semi-finals in the 2019 Song of the Year songwriting contest.

Eric also creates music under the moniker, Sons of the Golden West, and released an instrumental album called "Punch Drunk Moon" in January 2020.

Eric's music (including three tracks on "Punch Drunk Moon") has appeared in more than 250 TV episodes. His TV credits include Last Call With Carson Daly (NBC), Porter Ridge (Discovery), No Kitchen Required (BBC America), Real Housewives of Atlanta (Bravo), Return to Amish (TLC), Last Chance Highway (Animal Planet), Brain Games (National Geographic Explorer), and Flipping Out (Bravo). His song "Teriza" appeared in an online video narrated by Ashley Judd, "Help Save Idaho's Wolves".
